Ink Chemistry and Information Systems Internship – Summer 2025
Apply your engineering skills and expertise in a role that combines elements of ink chemistry and information science. This unique internship experience is ideal for a Chemical Engineering student with an interest in Computer Science, or a Computer Science student eager to explore aspects of industrial chemistry. You’ll have the chance to drive process flow improvements and contribute to the development of innovative information systems.

Location:  Ricoh’s High Productivity Digital Solutions Center, Boulder, Colorado

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborative Project Work:
    • Assist in enhancing process flows and optimizing the technical information pipeline for production imaging systems.
    • Work with experts on GenAI Large Language Model technology
    • Contribute to improving ink quality through hands-on laboratory experiments and innovative analytical work.
  • Cross-Functional Experience:
    • Work alongside professionals in both chemical and computer engineering fields.
    • Learn valuable insights into product development within a dynamic, industrial environment.
    • Gain experience working with international teams and customers.
  • Technical Impact:

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a related major (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar)
  • Previous work or internship experience preferred
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Successful completion of required pre-hire screenings

Skills and Abilities:

  • Highly motivated and capable of multitasking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Python

Working Environment:

  • Primarily office and laboratory-based with standard lighting, ventilation, and environmental conditions.
  • Tasks involve interpreting complex data, moderate physical activity, and regular use of basic office and laboratory equipment.
