Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, trust-worthy, and detail-oriented Human Resources Services Specialist to support our HR team in ensuring a positive and efficient work environment for our dedicated team. This entry-level position will provide administrative and operational support in various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training coordination, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a passion for people-focused work, and a commitment to our mission.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire documents, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, benefits documentation, and compliance tracking.
- Assist in coordinating training and professional development opportunities for the team.
- Assist in scheduling appointments with employees.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations. Assist in scheduling appointments with employees.
-Support employee engagement initiatives, such as wellness programs, team-building activities, and staff appreciation efforts.
- Address general HR inquiries from employees and outside sources, providing timely and professional assistance, escalating to management, as necessary.
- Assist in processing payroll and benefits administration tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with various departments to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Perform other HR-related administrative duties as assigned.
**This position may be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement for confidentiality of employee records.**
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field; or four (4) years of experience in HR, administration, or a customer service-related role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HR software like Paylocity is a plus.
- Passion for working in a non-profit environment and commitment to the mission of STEAM education.
- Knowledge of basic HR principles, employment laws, and best practices is a plus.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in the Spanish language is a plus.
