What would a typical day on the job be like? What work would I do?
In this role as an intern in the Department of Waterworks, you will help with the inventory of IT assets, tracking and updating IT hardware, and ensuring all assets are tagged. You will also conduct data entry and documentation for IT systems, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of recorded assets.
A typical day would involve providing help desk support using a support ticket system, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, responding to user requests, and escalating issues to Tier 2 support as needed. You may also be asked to assist with setting up and configuring IT equipment, including computers, network printers, and peripherals.
You will utilize a personal computer with basic applications and should also possess interpersonal and time management skills to be successful in this role.
How much money can I make?
The rate of pay for this internship is $15.00 - $20.00 per hour. The salary earned will be based on the intern’s experience and education.
What are the qualifications for this position?
We are looking for an individual that wants to learn and be productive in a municipal waterworks environment. The on-the-job training you will experience will broaden your horizons. This position does require some IT experience, and you must be at least sixteen years old.
You must also pass a general background check, to include a local and state criminal history check.
