Resource Coordinator - Interim
The Department for Children & Families' Family Services Division St. Albans Office is seeking an Interim Resource Coordinator to join our team of dedicated staff in supporting children, families, and communities. Our goal is to promote safety, permanency, wellbeing, and law abidance for children in need. Your role as a resource coordinator would support district office assessment of foster care placement and respite resources and recruiting foster parents in response to local needs. Resource coordinators work with the family service worker to ensure relatives and natural supports are identified, assessed, and appropriately supported as placement resources for children and youth. This role also provides foster care orientation and foundation training to all potential foster parents.
In addition, this role:
-Provides on-going support for licensed foster parents through visits, telephone contacts and home contacts
-Acts as district liaison to local foster parent association.
-Participates in the development of foster parent contracts including specification of work to be performed and establishment of rates of payment. May mediate disputes between foster parents and social workers.
-Ensures foster families respect the cultural, ethnic, and spiritual values of the families we serve.
-Follows the Diligent Recruitment (DR) process for recruiting, retaining, and supporting kin and foster families as well as tracking recruitment data.
This is an interim position with an anticipated duration of approximately 6 months but potentially longer.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree AND one (1) year of human services work or community resource development.
OR
One (1) year or more of graduate credits in a Master’s or Doctorate program related to social work, counseling, psychology, or public administration.
OR
Four (4) years of child welfare experience in the role of recruiting, training and retaining foster families.
