Nuclear Energy Policy Internship Announcement (Paid)

 

International Technology and Trade Associates Inc. (ITTA) is an international consulting firm located in Washington, D.C. We are offering a paid graduate internship in the field of nuclear energy policy and nonproliferation

 

ITTA provides a wide range of professional services to its clients, including objective research, informed analysis, training, and the design and implementation of effective business strategies. ITTA serves a variety of U.S. and international clients in the areas of aerospace, space, defense, government relations, energy and the environment, foreign policy, as well as international trade and investment in a range of industries. 

 

The ITTA internship program provides graduate students with real-world experience in a professional consulting environment. Over the course of the internship, the graduate student will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of US nuclear energy policies and improve research skills, business writing, and basic analytical capabilities. The position involves substantive research, writing, and analysis in support of staff reporting requirements and other client deliverables. 

 

ITTA is seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and basic skills:

 

  • Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a Master’s degree program focused on international relations, political science, public policy, or science and technology policies. 
  • Demonstrated interest in U.S. and international nuclear energy policies and related issues. (Previous experience with nuclear energy is desirable but not required.)
  • Demonstrated writing and research capability. 
  • Willingness to manage multiple requirements while paying close attention to detail. 

 

The Nuclear Energy and Nonproliferation Intern will perform the following tasks: 

 

  • Monitor developments in domestic and international nuclear energy policy in support of ITTA’s Nuclear Energy and Nonproliferation Analyst. 
  • Write brief overviews of developments in industry and government policies. 
  • Conduct targeted research in response to client requests.
  • Attend Congressional hearings, industry events, and other meetings to support ITTA’s client work. 

 

A minimum commitment of at least 30 hours per week is required for the Summer Term. The pay is $17.50 per hour. The internship may be renewed on a semester basis for up to calendar one year. This internship will be in person at ITTA’s Washington D.C. office.
