
Design Drafting Technician Intern
General summary:
Provide design and technical support for Great River Energy’s Transmission Division to meet the design requirements and ensure the objectives of the department are met. This position is located at our facility in Maple Grove, MN with the eligibility to work in a hybrid environment.
Job responsibilities:
Support the design of projects and ensure accuracy by using AutoCAD, GRE Standards and specifications for Transmission line projects.
•Prepare construction standard unit drawings.
•Prepare non-standard unit drawings, load and design drawings, construction 1-lines and other detail drawings.
•Complete project closeout process for professional engineers’ approval
Update Adept, Maximo, Lawson and Primavera with project related data.
•Ensure drawing files are accurately stored within drawing management databases.
•Prepare project Bill of Materials.
•Update assigned tasks in Primavera.
Perform design duties as assigned for Transmission Line construction projects to ensure accuracy by using GRE and NESC (Nationals Electric Safety Code) standards and specifications for Transmission Division projects.
•Assemble the construction issue package for review and signature by the professional engineer prior to issuing to construction.
•Assist consultant preparation of construction issue packages.
•Provide Project Manager with data required to develop project estimate and cash flow.
Requirements:
Must be enrolled in a collegiate program and in a technical curriculum.
We provide competitive internship pay. Duration of the internship will be PT during the school year (minimum of 10 hours/week) and FT during Summer/Breaks in a hybrid work environment.
