Full Job Description: Supervisor of Special Education Instructional Services

Grade: Educational Grade 7 | EG-7

Tulsa Public Schools’ existing salary schedules provide career increment adjustments based on education/experience and/or years of creditable service. Minimum Qualifications:

Education: 

• Master’s Degree from an accredited university required 

• Oklahoma Education Certification (Special Education Teacher) (required) 

• Oklahoma School Administration Certificate (preferred) 

• School Leader/Principal experience (preferred)

Experience:

• Three (3) years’ experience in program administration and the supervision of professional personnel 

• Two (2) years’ experience in a special education leadership role 

• Two (2) years’ experience in leading diverse work teams, program evaluation research methods

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.: 

• Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in Special Education 

○ Administrator certificate preferred 

• Extensive knowledge and experience with the student referral, evaluation identification process. 

• Experience working with children and youth in a special education setting; experience in an urban school setting and/or in a multicultural education environment preferred 

• Comprehensive proficiency in theories and principles of learning and evaluation knowledge of special education principles, theories and laws 

• Demonstrate ability to resolve logistical and operational problems related to special education service delivery 

• Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal special education law 

• Demonstrate knowledge of special education programs 

• General knowledge of the school District’s mission and goals, programs, facilities, and personnel 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite 

• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
