Summer Resident Advisor

EF International Language Campuses in Honolulu is looking for a talented and exceptional individual to join its team of Resident Advisors! We seek a motivated, responsible, dynamic, and community-building individual to take on the exciting challenge of working in an international environment. Previous experience as a Resident Advisor is always a plus, but it is not required! The summer Resident Advisor role is from June until August, with potential to grow.   

About the School:  

EF Honolulu is one of many international language schools that accepts students from all over the world to live in an amazing city and learn English. Located in Waikiki, this residence holds 88 students in addition to our students who stay with host families.  

About the Position:  

As an RA at EF, you have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a highly diverse student population and a high-energy staff. The position provides great flexibility and requires you to wear many hats including administrator, leader, event coordinator, role model, and counselor. This is a job where we truly ask you to bring your personality to the position.  

This is a part-time, temporary position and most of the shifts occur during afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Since this is a seasonal job, you are required to be available the whole months of July and August. 

While on duty, you will be performing general administrative tasks, planning and organizing weekly activities, conducting weekly room checks, and attendingweekly staff meetings. Additional shifts may be requested to meet the demands of the school operations. We are looking for RAs that are not only friendly and personable while working in the RA office but can also build meaningful connections with our residents and vendors alike.  

 SummerResident Advisor Duties:   

  • Provide positive role modeling for residents in areas of communications, decision-making, and problem solving.
  • Responsible for assigned residents, including performing weekly room checks and general oversight.
  • Collaborate with Housing Team and the Activity Manager to organize student activities on-campus and around the city.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive community atmosphere.
  • Work with fellow RAs and Housing Team to create a “Home Away from Home” feeling.
  • Follow and represent EF’s dedication to excellent customer service.
  • Oversee student’s check-ins and check-outs during weekend shifts and help resolve any issues that may occur during night shifts.
  • Communicate in an effective manner with co-workers regarding daily residence life activities.

  • FREE housing in Hawaii and a fun, international summer experience. As an RA, you must live at the EF residence during your time of employment. Accommodation is provided - shared room with another RA.
