Research Assistant, CHP Health Services Administration

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- SDG-Oriented Research: Engage in research projects that focus on applying AI to tackle challenges related to Zero Hunger 9SDG 2), Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), and Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9).
- Data Analysis and Solutions Development: Conduct comprehensive data analysis to understand local challenges and develop AI-driven solutions. collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create scalable and sustainable models.
- Community Engagement: Participate in initiatives to engage the Detroit community, understanding their needs and how AI can be applied to improve quality of life and foster sustainable development.
- Documentation and Reporting: Assist in documenting research findings, preparing reports, and presenting results that demonstrate the impact of AI on achieving the SDGs in an urban context.
- Collaborative Research and Networking: work closely with academic and industry partners, contributing to proposals and presentations that showcase the Center's role in transforming Detroit into a pioneering urban landscape for sustainable development.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program at the University of Detroit Mercy, preferably in a field related to computer science, AI, or a relevant discipline.
- A strong interest in social issues and sustainable development, particularly as they relate to urban contexts.
- Analytical skills, with an ability to interpret data in the context of urban challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, with the capability to engage effectively with community members and stakeholders.
- Proactive, collaborative, and passionate about making a social impact.
Anticipated Schedule:
- 5- 8 hours per week.
