The Team:
The Fixed Income Operations Team within the Global Index Management & Production Group ("IMPG"). The team is responsible for the calculation, maintenance and dissemination of S&P and iBoxx-branded indices globally.
As a member of the fixed income index operations team, you will gain exposure to a variety of fixed income securities, data sets and indices, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement complex data processes and index calculation methodologies. Responsibilities and Impact:
The Graduate Associate will spend approximately 12 months developing skills and knowledge by working through various assignments within the Fixed Income Index Operations group, to gain a holistic view of the function, its role and responsibilities, as well as stakeholders and deliverables, leading to a permanent assignment based on business demands. The assignments will include working with all parts of the Fixed Income Index Operations group including index calculation, quality assurance, data distribution, universe and reference data management, operational excellence initiatives and index management and rebalancing.
The Graduate Associate will have the opportunity to work with data from a wide range of fixed income securities across global markets and must ensure quality, accuracy and timely delivery of these data points to internal stakeholders and external clients. The Graduate Associate will ensure the accuracy of index calculations and memberships during the monthly rebalancing process.
Across the assignments, the Graduate Associate will be required to:
- Validate inputs used for index calculation, including corporate action analysis, price validation and market data assessment.
- Oversee daily operations processes for the calculation of global indices, investigating alerts and coordinating with the technology team to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Review and interpret corporate action events including refinancing, restructuring, bankruptcy workout, sustainability data, call, put, sinking fund etc.
- Manage the onboarding of new data feeds, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems.
- Conduct data quality checks and implement processes for data validation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver timely, accurate data for index calculations.
- Support the broader team in resolving data-related issues and maintaining high standards of data quality.
- Conduct periodic index reviews and support the monthly index rebalancing process.
- Support the analysis of recommended index changes and assist in presenting these changes to the index committee.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to assess potential methodology changes and help facilitate the governance review process.
- Assist in the development and launch of new indices, supporting with methodology application, operational feasibility, and system capabilities.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
- S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $53,844 to $78,925. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
- In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), demonstrating the ability to handle data and presentations effectively.
- Understanding of fixed income securities, reference data, and market practices.
- Intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to learn and apply new knowledge in your work.
- Ability to conduct independent analysis and research, showing initiative and resourcefulness.
- Strong relationship-building skills, emphasizing collaboration and effective communication with team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong listening techniques and the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
- Problem-solving, time-management, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Python and SQL would be an advantage.
- Any professional experience (e.g. internships) working with financial data, especially within the fixed income domain would be an advantage.
