Background on R&T:

Founded in 1974, R&T Deposit Solutions is a privately held financial technology company based in New York City. A recognized leader in the administration of insured deposit programs, R&T serves over 350 banks and financial institutions with over $174* Billion in assets under administration (AUA). In 2022, with the support of Estancia Capital Management, R&T acquired Total Financial Solutions, expanding its product offerings, increasing the depth of its management team and operational capabilities. In August 2023, R&T received a strategic investment from GTCR, which acquired a 50% equity stake. The investment by GTCR in R&T is intended to further support and sustain R&T’s high rate of growth in its expanded deposit insurance programs, while also investing in further strengthening leadership, governance, risk management, and technology infrastructure.

Operations Summary:

Operations at R&T plays a critical role in ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for our clients, from onboarding through ongoing support. The team is responsible for daily processing of client transactions and funds transfers, daily accounting and client reporting.  The Operations team works closely with Product, IT, and Relationship Management to drive client satisfaction and operational efficiency. 

Position Summary:

The Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience in financial technology, client support, and process improvement. This role offers exposure to core client service functions, including support triaging, onboarding processes, and client account management best practices. Additionally, the intern will contribute to process improvement projects, client experience analysis, and documentation clean-up efforts to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. This internship is ideal for students interested in fintech, financial services, and client operations.

Responsibilities:

• Client Outreach & Administrative Support
  • Reach out to clients to update contact information in the database
  • Verify and correct outdated or incomplete client contact details
  • Prepare and send follow-up emails to clients regarding contact updates
  • Assist in cleaning and deduplicating database entries
• Bank Account Monitoring & Wire Transfers
  • Monitor bank accounts for incoming wire transfers
  • Support reconciliation of trade settlement wires with counterparties
  • Assist in reconciling wire transfers
• Trade Review & Quality Control
  • Assist in conducting quality checks on financial transactions (e.g., deposit, withdrawal, interest rates, etc.)
  • Review documentation for accuracy and consistency

Qualifications and Skills:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Communications, or a related fields with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other productivity tools
• Interest in financial technology, client services, and process improvement
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in customer service, financial services, or project management (preferred but not required)
