Position Overview:

As a Scientist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research and development efforts in cell loading and advanced manufacturing. You will play a key role in designing, executing, and analyzing experiments that drive our research forward. As a scientific lead, you will ensure that day-to-day laboratory operations align with project goals, mentor and guide technicians, and contribute to the development of innovative biotechnologies. Key Responsibilities:

Design, execute, and analyze experiments that support the objectives of our grant-funded research. 

Act as the primary scientific lead on projects, ensuring research aligns with funding milestones and company objectives. 

Write and present research reports to leadership, colleagues, and collaborators.  

Ensure proper function of laboratory operations, including equipment upkeep, inventory management, and safety compliance. 

Serve as a subject matter expert for laboratory processes, equipment, and methodologies, providing guidance to technicians and junior scientists. 

Manage and mentor laboratory technicians, overseeing their experimental work and professional development. May directly supervise team members. 

Collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, and leadership to communicate research progress, troubleshoot challenges, and integrate findings into broader company initiatives. 

Stay up to date with current scientific literature to inform experimental design and research direction. 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or a related field, with 4+ years of experience, Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience, PhD with 0+ years of experience. 

Strong preference for experience writing and leading grant projects (preferred but not required). 

Experience with hematology and/or red blood cells 

Experience with experimental design, protocol development, and leading research teams. 

Proven expertise in laboratory techniques, including cell culture, assays, and reagent preparation. 

Experience in laboratory maintenance procedures, including equipment calibration, cleaning, and inventory management. 

Experience leading research teams, teaching, or mentoring.  

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance tasks and responsibilities. 

Effective communication skills to report research findings and provide updates to leadership. 

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, including coordinating shared lab space and communicating with engineering and leadership teams. 

Commitment to laboratory safety and adherence to regulatory guidelines. 

 

Equipment & Techniques: 
 

Advanced knowledge with the following is required:  

 

Experimental design, protocol development, and data analysis.  

Optical Microscopy (including Fluorescent) 

Standard Biology Lab Equipment (Centrifuge, Pipettes, Analytical Balances, pH Meter, etc.) 

 

Experience with the following is preferred: 

 

Lyophilization of biological materials 

Hematology Analyzers 

Plate Readers 

HPLC 

Flow Cytometry 

Coulter Counter 

Zetasizer 

Cell Culture Equipment (BSC, Incubator, etc.)
