RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Work with the interim director of CCoA to develop and deliver multiple educational events on campus and in the community. Specific duties may include securing facilities, developing programs, confirming speakers, organizing refreshments, record keeping related to attendance, managing publicity, and interacting with multiple university and community partners required to facilitate the event.
- Work with the interim director of CCoA on policy-related research impacting aging populations in Southern Minnesota.
- Assist with meeting coordination and minutes for the Chesley Center on Aging Board meetings.
- Other duties as assigned related to the Chesley Center on Aging, including website management and university projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have evidence of interest in and experience with aging-related policies and issues.
- Experience with policy research, including data collection, analysis, and writing.
- A Bachelor's Degree
- Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
- Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- In a academic program that includes focus on aging-related studies.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.
RELATED INFORMATION:
Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
