Systems Administrator

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Systems Administrator to join our growing team. As a member of the IT Infrastructure department, you will work with and report to the IT Infrastructure and Security Analyst, to provide logistical support, respond to queries, document changes, and assist with testing, assessment, diagnosis and resolution of network service outages and incidents. The systems administrator will assist with all support services which includes, but are not limited to, end user support, data center operations, servers and services, remote access, virtualization, and inventory and records management and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

This role is expected to be able to resolve the following technical issues with little or no assistance:

  • Support the end-user community by addressing hardware and software issues.
  • Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments.
  • Carry out routine system updates and patches under the guidance of senior administrators.
  • Collaborate with senior administrators to troubleshoot and resolve user problems
  • Provide support in setting up and maintaining the organization's computer networks.
  • Participate in server configuration and optimization activities.
  • Assist in troubleshooting network issues and ensuring network security measures are in place.
  • Monitor performance and report issues to senior administrators.
  • Assist with employee on-boarding and off-boarding for IT systems.
  • Self-motivated to learn and acquire new skills through assigned training.
  • Maintain a professional and helpful demeanor while providing excellent customer service.
  • Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • CompTIA Network+ and Security+ or CCNA (minimum)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, networks, and server administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
