Departmental Analyst 9 to P11 levels Position Description
This analyst position will conduct contract and expenditure monitoring. The analyst will support the Cardiovascular Health, Nutrition and Physical Activity Section’s (CVHNPA) Specialist in developing budgets and budget narratives for federal grants. Work with program and/or other Department staff to assist grantees with proper budget development and management. This position will also provide technical assistance to program staff and grantees. Participates in professional development trainings.
Departmental Analyst 12 level Position Description
This position is the recognized resource contract manager and liaison between the Bureau of Grants and Purchasing (BGP), the Cardiovascular Health, Nutrition, and Physical Activity Section’s (CVHNPA) and their contracted agencies. This position supports the CVHNPA section in doing the following duties: act as the liaison between the Bureau of Grants and Purchasing (BGP) and their grantees; oversight managing and monitoring contracts and expenditures; provide technical assistance to managers, staff, and grantees in developing contractual budgets. This position acts as the financial liaison between CVHNPA and MDHHS Grants and Budget Offices to develop budgets and budget narratives for federal grant applications, develop projections and reconcile federal expenses, and assist in developing Fiscal Federal Reporting reimbursement requests. Participates in professional development trainings.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Departmental Analyst 9
No specific type or amount is required.
Departmental Analyst 10
One year of professional experience.
Departmental Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
Departmental Analyst 12
Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
Alternate Education and Experience
Departmental Analyst 9 - 12
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
