
Assistant Automation Maintenance Technician
ABOUT THE ROLE
Assists with equipment maintenance, repairs, and reports for, new models, enhancements, and expansions. Participates in maintaining the accuracy of all spare parts inventory, accounts for all usage, maintains all work order maintenance and repair documentation. Troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and test equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability. maintains and updates all process documentation. Must demonstrate the knowledge and ability to employ safe work practices.
This involves ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and visitors. It is the Assistant’s duty to anticipate, identify, and correct all maintenance problems involving the Automation infrastructure to include the Robotic P1200’S (Robots), the Pop Pick Stations and the Induction / Decant equipment. The Assistant Automation Technician’s will follow the direction of the Automation Maintenance Technician on site regarding work assignments and the safe and proper preventive maintenance to all automation type of equipment based on their respective maintenance schedules.

$23.18 hourly (40 hours)
Monday - Friday, (1:30pm-10pm) Full-time, Non-Exempt

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Perform preventive maintenance on all automated equipment as scheduled and directed.
- Carry out scheduled robotic and facilities equipment inspections to identify and resolve issues.
- Evaluate/ diagnose and perform repairs on automation equipment not functioning properly.
- Accurately document and communicate all preventative maintenance and repair activities daily.
- Responsible for all spare parts inventory usage and accuracy, provide weekly summary.
- Adjust work schedule as needed to accommodate business needs, to perform certain tasks outside of normal operations functions.
- Actively coordinate and communicate with operations team to maximize equipment availability to ensure minimal disruptions.
- Responsible for the security of all company tools and diagnostic devices used in this department.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment
- Initiate Work Requests
- Seek out ways to improve Process and Equipment
- Assist with troubleshooting when needed.
- Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment
- Complete all required safety training.
- Track activities in maintenance logs in the CWMS.
- Perform other activities as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 6 months experience in a similar maintenance position
- Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- A clear understanding of mechanical tools and some electrical tools.
- Ability to read and understand documents written in English.
- Have the physical strength and dexterity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Able to work overtime when required.
- Willing to perform other duties as required.
- Willing and open to learning new skills not yet acquired.
- Must be a highly flexible individual that can adjust to changes quickly.
- Must be willing to work overtime and holidays as needed to maintain maximum uptime on all robotic equipment and systems.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Basic or higher level of computers, Microsoft.
- Ability to safely operate typical material handling equipment such as, forklifts and powered pallet jacks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
In performing this job, the employee must stand and walk for an 8+ hour shift. Additionally, the position requires frequent grasping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling of items with hands and arms, up to 50 lbs. Moderate hand-eye coordination, near vision, far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, adjusting focus and hearing.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The job will be performed entirely in the warehouse where conditions can range from warm to cool. The job will be performed around warehouse machines and equipment with a moderate level of noise. Employee must be able to work in a high-volume, high-demand environment while meeting strenuous customer deadlines. Employee must be able to change priorities or job duties as needed and interact with employees at all levels.
