Internship Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Control Technician Intern to support our production and quality assurance teams. This internship offers hands-on experience in product testing, inspection, and documentation within a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete 360 hours of work as an intern (32-40 hours per week, 12 weeks total)
- Assist with routine product inspections and testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Record and analyze data from inspections and lab tests
- Support sample preparation and equipment calibration under supervision
- Help maintain organized and accurate quality documentation and reports
- Follow safety and cleanliness procedures in lab and production areas.
Goals and Expectations of the Intern:
- Gain practical experience in quality assurance and control processes
- Learn how to identify non-conformities and understand corrective action procedures
- Develop familiarity with inspection tools, lab instruments, and quality standards
- Strengthen communication skills through reporting and team collaboration.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a degree-seeking student at the University of Nevada, Reno after the Spring ‘25 semester
- Spring ‘25 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program
- Currently enrolled in a science or engineering field
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
- Willingness to follow written procedures and safety guidelines
- Effective communication and computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a lab or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with basic quality control tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, pH meters)
- Completed coursework in quality systems, chemistry, or related fields
Desired Schedule for Intern:
Applicants must be able to work during regular office hours which are from 8am - 5pm. Must be available to work a minimum of 4 hours per shift.
Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 360 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
