Blockchain Solidity & NFT Developer Intern (Pack STEM, BattleBorn.ai, Summer '25)

Internship Description: 

As a Full-Stack Developer on the Battle Born AI team, you'll dive into a fast-paced environment where your code shapes the future of blockchain-powered fractional ownership. Beyond building innovative features, you'll collaborate with passionate technologists in our hybrid workspace, participate in regular hackathons, and see your ideas transform into real-world solutions. This role offers not just technical growth, but the satisfaction of creating technology that makes decentralized ownership accessible to everyone. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Blockchain Development: Design, write, test, and deploy smart contracts using Solidity for fractional ownership and financial operations 
  • Front-End Development: Create responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks 
  • Back-End Development: Build robust APIs and server-side components to support the Uzay ecosystem 
  • Integration: Connect blockchain functionality with traditional web services and databases 
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Implement comprehensive testing strategies to ensure application reliability and security 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers in an agile environment 
  • Innovation: Contribute ideas to improve user experience and technical implementation 

 

Goals and Expectations of the Intern: 

  • Master Core Technologies: Gain hands-on proficiency with Solidity, smart contract frameworks, and NFT standards. You are expected to quickly ramp up on technical details and industry best practices. 
  • Deliver Quality Code: Produce secure, well-documented, and efficient smart contracts that meet both functional and security standards. Expect rigorous code reviews and be ready to iterate until the product is robust. 
  • Collaborate and Integrate: Work closely with UI/UX designers and frontend/backend developers to seamlessly integrate blockchain features into our products. Your work will directly impact the end-user experience, so clear communication and teamwork are essential.  
  • Innovate and Problem-Solve: Challenge conventional approaches and propose creative, pragmatic solutions that advance our blockchain initiatives. You’re expected to think critically and bring fresh insights that drive innovation. 
  • Ownership and Accountability: Manage assigned tasks independently while meeting deadlines. Take full ownership of your projects and proactively seek feedback to continuously improve your technical and collaborative skills. 
  • Adapt and Learn Rapidly: Embrace the fast-paced, ever-evolving nature of blockchain technology. Stay updated on the latest trends and integrate new knowledge into your work, contributing to the overall growth of Battle Born AI’s technological capabilities. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be a degree-seeking student at the University of Nevada, Reno after the Spring ‘25 semester  
  • Spring ‘25 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program 
  • Blockchain Fundamentals: Basic knowledge of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and cryptocurrencies is required. 
  • Solidity Proficiency: Familiarity with Solidity and an understanding of its role in smart contract development. 
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills. 
  • Team-Oriented: Good communication skills and a willingness to collaborate in a fast-paced, hybrid environment. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • NFT Standards: Knowledge of NFT standards (such as ERC-721 or ERC-1155) is a plus. 
  • Development Tools: Exposure to blockchain development frameworks (e.g., Truffle, Hardhat) is desirable but not mandatory. 

 

Desired Schedule for Intern:  

Up to 40 hours weekly in office. The schedule is designed to offer flexibility within a hybrid work environment, allowing a balance between in-office work at UNR NCAR and remote collaboration. 

 

Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 360 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
