  1. Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated student to intern for our PD Downstream team. The Research Associate Intern will help to design, execute, and author downstream purification development, tech transfer, and optimization studies. The student will also partner with other internal PD teams during process tech transfer.

  1. Responsibilities
  • Completes all required training (i.e. safety, equipment etc.).
  • Performs job specific tasks in compliance with applicable regulations, International standards, and WuXi Biologics internal policies and guidelines.
  • Contributes to project workflow to ensure on time delivery: from initial planning, experiment execution, to data evaluation and report drafting.
  • Designs and executes lab-scale experiment.
  • Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.
  • Working under supervision on bench scale purification process development, optimization and process transfer studies. Designing and executing pilot-scale experiments to support non-GMP material generation.

 

  1. Qualifications

 

  • Upper-level undergraduates working towards BS/BA or recent graduates, in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life sciences, Biochemical engineering, or related field.

 

  • Strong oral & written communication skills are required. Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Great team player and ability to build positive collaboration with team members and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a self-motivated, multiple tasks, highly flexible, well-organized and detailed-oriented style.
  • Hands-on experience in protein purification and lab scale experimental execution, including chromatography, UFDF, TFF, viral inactivation and filtration, etc. is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with cell biology, microbial fermentation, mammalian cell culture, protein purification, analytical sciences, bioassay development, working in cGMP environment or Biologics CMC development is preferred, but not required.
