Pay: $10–$12/hour (High School Students) | $13–$15/hour (College Students)
Hours: 10–20 hours/week | Flexible Schedule | Some Weekend Hours Required
Dates: May 15 - August 15
The Hoover Presidential Foundation is seeking enthusiastic and motivated high school and college students to join our team as Hoover Student Ambassadors. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing, event planning, and nonprofit operations—great experience to highlight on college applications or future job resumes. Ambassadors will play a key role in helping share President Herbert Hoover’s legacy with communities across Iowa while developing real-world skills in communication, outreach, and public engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the Hoover Presidential Foundation at community events and festivals across Iowa alongside Foundation staff
- Help share the story of Herbert Hoover and promote the upcoming Museum Renovation, using prepared talking points and materials to guide conversations
- Assist with marketing projects, including social media content, flyer distribution, and outreach efforts
- Support event planning and execution for Foundation programs
- Help with various office projects, including organizing materials and preparing mailings
- Collaborate with staff on various initiatives that support the Foundation’s mission
Qualifications:
- High school or college student with reliable transportation to and from West Branch (transportation to festivals will be provided)
- Outgoing and comfortable engaging with the public
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Interest in history, museums, nonprofit work, or public engagement is a plus
- Available at least two weekends a month
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

- Applicants do not need to be 18 or older to apply. However, Ambassadors must be at least 18 years old to participate in festivals that require overnight travel. All travel-related meals and accommodations will be provided.
