Internship Overview:
Modern Times, Inc. (MTI) is currently looking for motivated and ambitious undergraduate students looking to gain hands-on experience through a summer internship. Learn about and work on some of the highest profile projects across the country, including multi-billion dollar transportation projects that affect millions of people. Get a behind-the-scenes look at efforts to transform Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), expand rail services in West Los Angeles and build a new state of the art football stadium for the Buffalo Bills. See public policy initiatives rom a front row seat. Engage with local communities.
This is a hybrid 8-10 week internship program, with the opportunity to continue into the school year based on work performance. The ideal schedule for this internship would be June to August, but can be adjusted based on the candidate's schedule. This internship offers flexibility and can be fully remote or hybrid, depending on the student's location. Candidates located near one of our key locations may have the opportunity to combine remote work with occasional in-person meetings, office days or events.
Key Locations:
California and the greater Washington D.C. area.

Learning Objective:
Interns will be exposed to the operations of a small business and gain hands-on experience in their desired department of choice. Through our program they will learn about each department of our company, ultimately choosing their area of specialization. Students will be able to apply their academic knowledge and gain additional skills during their 8-10 weeks of employment.
The individuals filling this role will be responsible for smaller assignments, like data entry and administrative tasks, as well as being responsible for completing an assigned Intern Project. Additionally, if there is a specific skill or type of work the intern is interested in pursuing, we are open to adjusting the program to fit their desired skillset.
The ideal candidates have the following attributes:
- Must be currently enrolled at a college or university in an accredited degree program, junior or senior level preferred.
- Majoring in but not limited to:
- All Business majors
- Human Resources
- Construction Management
- Communications/Marketing
- Computer Science
- Project Management
- Political Science/Public Policy
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Eager to gain hands-on professional experience.
Summer Intern Salary:
$20 a hour. Part-time, 20 hours/week
