Marketing Intern

We’re on the lookout for a creative, detail-oriented Marketing Intern to help us take our digital presence to the next level—especially when it comes to social media and email campaigns.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling social media content
  • Write engaging and on-brand copy for social media posts, newsletters, and promotional email campaigns
  • Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and identify trends and opportunities for engagement
  • Support the development and execution of monthly email marketing campaigns
  • Help analyze performance metrics (open rates, engagement, clicks, etc.) and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing on content calendars and campaign strategies
  • Conduct basic competitor research and content audits
  • Maintain brand voice and consistency across all content

Requirements

Who you are: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for social media, storytelling, and content creation
  • Familiarity with platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, Mailchimp (or similar), and Canva
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing and email marketing principles
  • A self-starter with good time management and attention to detail
  • Interest in tech, IT, or cybersecurity is a plus

Bonus points for: 

  • Experience with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite)
  • Working knowledge of SEO basics and content strategy
  • Graphic design or video editing experience

Additional details: 

  • This is a part-time internship opportunity
  • Hours are flexible, typically around 15-20 hours per week, and scheduled during our core business hours (8:00AM-6:00PM EST)
  • This is an on-site role based at our headquarters in Frederick, MD, so applicants must reside within commuting distance
  • This internship is paid, with compensation based on experience
