English Language Arts Teacher

Position:                      English Language Arts Teacher             

                        

Location:                    Stacy Middle School

 

Schedule:                     2025-2026 School Year

 

Salary:                         Per Teacher's Contract

 

To Start:                      August 2025 (plus 2 days of mentoring prior to start date on 8/19-8/20)

 

Qualifications: 

  • Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher License –Certified Grades 5-8 in English Language Arts; Highly Qualified in Subject Area;
  • SEI Endorsement required;

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for English Language Arts and Literacy (Grades 6–8)
  • Implement a rigorous ELA curriculum utilizing grade-level complex texts that challenge and engage diverse learners
  • Design differentiated instruction that addresses various learning styles while maintaining high academic standards
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and growth
  • Collaborate to align curriculum and instructional practices
  • Utilize multiple forms of assessment data (formative, summative, diagnostic, and standardized) to guide instructional planning and delivery
  • Implement regular formative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies in real-time
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional growth
  • Support English Learners (ELs) and Former Limited English Proficient (FLEP) students through effective strategies and collaboration
  • Leverage technology to provide alternative access points to challenging content for diverse learners
  • Embrace blended learning approaches that combine traditional instruction with digital experiences
  • Create learning environments where students' cultural knowledge and experiences are recognized as valuable assets
  • Implement instructional strategies that draw upon diverse cultural learning styles and communication patterns
  • Actively participate in school and district professional development and apply new learning to improve instructional practice
  • Contribute to school-wide literacy initiatives and curriculum development by actively participating and positively contributing to professional learning opportunities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by school administration
