STEM Tutor

Positively impact high school students' lives by becoming a STEM Tutor! Work one-on-one with high school students to enhance their skills and confidence in the field of STEM! 

We are an organization dedicated to training and empowering the next generation of scientific researchers. This is an exciting opportunity to engage high school students interested in STEM, helping them master challenging concepts and achieve their academic goals. Our customized tutoring approach helps students improve their understanding, confidence, and performance in their chosen subject areas. Our tutors find guiding students to academic success a rewarding experience with lasting impact.

Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in a STEM field
  • Previous tutoring or mentoring experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in at least one STEM subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Engineering, or other STEM field)
  • Ability to commit at least 2 hours per week

Tutor Responsibilities:

  • Conduct personalized one-on-one Zoom tutoring sessions, typically 1 hour per week per student
  • Help students grasp complex concepts, complete assignments, and prepare for exams
  • Tailor lessons and practice exercises to each student's specific academic needs
  • Maintain regular communication and progress updates with students and parents

Tutors are matched with students based on their specific expertise (e.g., a Chemistry major or graduate student tutors students specifically in Chemistry).

Compensation and Expectations:

  • Competitive compensation at $20/hr; all tutoring sessions are virtual
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability, including evenings and weekends
  • Paid training provided during your first week to ensure confidence and readiness
  • Work from home stipend to ensure you have all the equipment you need for good tutoring sessions
