Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

Job Description:

  • The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA's) will be performing therapies, recording the notes of each visit, and following up with their patients.
  • The SLPA will be empowered to build their own schedule with a Supervisor, and maintain it consistently.
  • The SLPA will be given the tools (software/program) to facilitate the secretarial needs of their schedules (i.e., confirming appointments), and will be expected to have computer and smartphone literacy for this reason.
  • Some traveling can be expected, as we also offer services not only at our offices but at the daycare centers and schools in the surrounding areas.
  • The SLPA will meet with their Supervisor at least once a month and work on therapy strategies.

Education/Certificates:

  • B.S. in Communications Disorders, or a similar degree.
  • License from the State of Florida.

Skills:

  • English speaking
  • Bilingual (EnglishSpanish, French Creole)
  • Computer literacy
  • Smartphone literacy

Required Work Experience:

  • At least 1-year working with children

Responsibilities:

  • Employ therapy proficiently.
  • Maintain a consistent roster of patients.
  • Organize own schedule.
  • Use the software and programs provided.
  • Work with parents/guardians of the patient.
