What we need:

Natco is seeking an experienced Inventory and Purchasing Planner to join our Purchasing & Supply Chain team. This is a hybrid position based out of our West Warwick, RI corporate headquarters. The primary function of this role is to assist in establishing and monitoring inventory levels as well as developing analytical tools to enhance supplier performance and efficiency. This role will be responsible for managing vendor relationships to optimize product quality, service, and fill rates under the guidance of the Purchasing and Replenishment Manager. 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage supplier/vendor relationships to achieve company standards of product quality, service, and cost-savings
  • Monitor inventory levels on a regular basis and assist with adjustments as needed in response to changes in demand or other factors
  • Communicate with overseas vendors and coordinate deliveries as well as expedite and analyze the movement of purchase orders
  • Liaise with the warehouse as well as the customer service and sales teams on scheduled deliveries
  • Prepare and monitor purchase orders detailing inventory levels to ensure timely and accurate ordering of merchandise
  • Validate invoices against purchase orders for approval to initiate production with vendors on all undelivered products
  • Recommend and assist in developing analytical tools to enhance and monitor vendor performance
  • Consolidate packing slips and invoices 
  • Prepare and submit daily and monthly reports as requested
  • Communicate and work effectively with other departments, provide support to team members, and perform backup administrative duties as needed
  • Assist with all other projects or duties as directed by the Purchasing and Replenishment Manager

 What you’ll have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory planning or supply chain management preferred
  • Knowledge of vendor management principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs with Intermediate Excel experience required

 What you’re good at: 

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Strong planning and coordination skills 
  • Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data 
  • Work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines 
  • Adaptable and reliable with the ability to self-direct 
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
