Part-Time Parking Adjudication Assistant

Transportation and Distribution Services (TDS) is currently seeking a Parking Assistant to support the TDS Adjudication Team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Respond to inquiries from patrons via email, mail, phone, and web forms to guide them through the citation adjudication process.
  • Provide in-person assistance to patrons at the front counter.
  • Process incoming mail, including payments, citation appeals, abstract forms, administrative hearing requests, and general inquiries.
  • Perform document management tasks such as scanning, filing, and shredding in accordance with department procedures and the records retention schedule.
  • Schedule and assemble case files in preparation for administrative hearings.
  • Support field staff by communicating via department-issued two-way radios using standard radio codes and the phonetic alphabet.
  • Prepare reports and perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.

  • Proven experience delivering excellent customer service in a high-volume, customer-focused environment while engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills, with the ability to effectively handle interactions with difficult individuals.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and thrive in a collaborative team setting.
  • Skilled in interpreting and clearly explaining policies and regulations to faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Flexible availability, with the ability to work a varied schedule as needed.
  • Maintaining confidentiality, particularly regarding DMV registered owner data and other sensitive departmental information.
  • Must successfully pass a LIVESCAN background check as a condition of employment.
