Senior Network/Server Administrator

Position Overview:
The Senior Network/Server Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation,
maintenance, and security of the enterprise wired, wireless networks, and on-premises
servers across multiple locations in Oregon and Washington. This position ensures network and server performance, availability, and scalability to support business operations while maintaining compliance with security policies and industry best practices. The role also involves collaboration with cybersecurity vendors to enhance network security and mitigate potential threats.


Primary Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure across multiple locations.
  • Configure, manage, and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance, capacity, and reliability, making adjustments as needed.
  • Implement and manage IP addressing schemes, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
  • Maintain network redundancy and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.

Server Management:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise physical and virtual servers across multiple locations.
  • Monitor server performance, capacity, and reliability, making adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain server redundancy and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.

Security & Cybersecurity Coordination:

  • Work closely with cybersecurity vendors to implement network security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
  • Monitor network traffic for security threats and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Support incident response efforts by identifying, mitigating, and documenting security risks.
  • Implement and enforce access control policies, including 802.1X authentication, WPA3 encryption, and VPN security.
  • Oversee all cloud security including AWS, Google cloud, and Dropbox.

Wireless Network Administration:

  • Manage and optimize enterprise Wi-Fi deployments, ensuring reliable connectivity and security.
  • Troubleshoot wireless performance issues, addressing RF interference and network congestion.
  • Implement security measures for wireless networks, including NAC, SSID segmentation, and WPA3 encryption.

Project Management & Strategy:

  • Collaborate with the Director of IT to develop and execute network upgrade and expansion plans.
  • Lead and coordinate network infrastructure projects, including hardware refreshes and cloud integrations.
  • Research and evaluate emerging networking technologies to enhance efficiency and security.

Technical Support & Documentation:

  • Provide Tier 3 support for network-related issues and escalations.
  • Maintain network diagrams, configurations, and documentation for operational reference.
  • Train and mentor IT staff on network administration and security best practices.

Qualifications & Experience: 

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise network/server administration.
  • Proficiency with Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Juniper, or Ubiquiti networking equipment.
  • Proficiency with virtual server environments.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and network monitoring tools.
  • Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network security best practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft and open-source operating systems
    (OS).
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi standards (802.11ac/ax), 802.1X authentication, and wireless security protocols.
  • Understanding of cloud networking solutions (Azure, AWS, SD-WAN, SASE).

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as CCNP, CWNA, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing multi-site enterprise networks.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, NAC solutions, and endpoint security.
  • Experience leading IT infrastructure projects and developing long-term network strategies.

ability to collaborate across teams to ensure a secure and efficient network infrastructure.
