Intern, Quality Tracking Tool Development
RCN Capital is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to assist in the development of a comprehensive quality tracking tool for our Underwriting team. This tool will enhance the visibility, scoring, and grading of underwriters' individual production quality and integrate data, such as Early Payment Default (EPD) tracking, as well as post-close errors related to the underwriting review and approval process. This internship will play a crucial role in ensuring data can be imported and automatically scored, with results readily available for analysis and trend visibility. Ideal candidates will have a balance of experience and interest in business, finance, and technology in order to fully understand and implement an effective tool
Primary Goals:
Tool Development:
- Assist in the design and development of a quality tracking tool to monitor and grade the performance of Underwriters
- Collaborate with the Underwriting Manager and SVP, Treasury to understand requirements and ensure the tool meets their needs.
Data Integration:
- Develop functionalities to import data fron various sources into the tracking tool
- Ensure teh tool can automatically score the imported data based on predefined criteria
Result Analysis and Trend Visibility:
- Implement features to generate and display results, providing clear insights into underwriters' performance
- Create dashboards and reports to visualize the data, identify trends, and facilitate decision-making
EPD Tracking Integration:
- Integrate Early Payment Default (EPD) tracking into the quality tracking tool
- Ensure seamless functionality and accurate tracking of EPD metrics.
Testing and Validation:
- Conduct thorought testing of the tool to identify and fix any issues.
- Validate the accuracy and reliability of the scoring and tracking mechanisms.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- As this internship will be in our Charlotte, NC office, commutability to the South Park area is required
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate professional by phone, email, and in person
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Exposure and proficient use of MS Office Suite, including Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong programming skills and experience with software or database development
- Familiarity with data integration and database management
- 4-year college degree in business, finance, statistics, engineering, CS, MIS, or equivalent so long as the degree program has a technical piece
- Full time - Monday-Friday, 9AM to 6PM, onsite
