Training Intern

RCN Capital, LLC is a national, direct private lender providing time-sensitive, bridge financing to real estate investors to fund the purchase of non-owner occupied residential and commercial properties, provide bridge loans, and provide real estate-backed lines of credit. Elite Commercial Servicing (ECS) is the loan servicing function within RCN Capital and is focused on providing excellent service and support to the borrowers in our network. We're looking for a Training Intern to join us this summer to learn how to develop, implement, and tract the efficacy of corporate training initiatives.

The Training Intern will shadow and assist the Corporate Training Manager with all facets of RCN Capital's training. This includes the new hire on-boarding process as well as managing continuing education curriculum for all employees. The intern will experience and learn the process of on-boarding a new hire from start to finish while sharing new and creative ideas with the goal of continually improving training plans including, scheduled tasks, curriculum and ways to enhance retention of learned material.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create, update and maintain new hire training plans and curriculum for all positions across the company.
  • Survey & collaborate with management to identify training needs to ensure training plans are built with appropriate curriculum that is structured to enhance retention within a time frame acceptable to management.
  • Shadow our new hire training orientation and the initial on-boarding period with the goal of sharing new and creative ideas to improve the overall on-boarding process.
  • Shadow and participate in the creation and maintenance of curriculum in the Bridge e-learning portal, RCN Learning Center SharePoint site, documentation and video.
  • Provide reporting on course enrollment, quiz data and completion status.
  • Survey new hires after their training to collect data driven information for continued improvement of training plans and the new hire experience.
  • Brainstorm and assist with projects and action items to reinforce our core value 'Develop Our People'

Required Skills:

  • Basic Understanding of Microsoft Office specifically Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple task concurrently in an efficient and effective manner
  • Adapts well to change and performs successfully in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic Understanding of Microsoft Forms and SharePoint preferred

Required Experience:

  • Current enrollment in a matriculated 4-year degree program at an accredited college or university studying Business, Communications, or a related field
  • Any former internship experience or professional employment experience is a plus

Schedule:

  • Onsite in our South Windsor, CT office
  • Flexibility for part time or full time
  • Business hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM
