Corporate Relations and Advocacy Intern

Position Summary:

As a key member of the Office of Advocacy & Corporate Relations within the College of Agriculture, Life & Environmental Sciences (CALES), the Corporate Relations and Advocacy Intern will play a vital role in: Identifying and researching potential corporate and foundation partners that align with CALES leading research, technologies, and innovations.

This internship provides an excellent opportunity for a student to gain firsthand experience in corporate relations and institutional advocacy to better equip them for significant career opportunities upon graduation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize FirstIgnite software to identify potential corporate and foundation partners that align with CALES’ research strengths.
  • Conduct in depth research on prospective and existing corporate partners and outside advocacy groups and organizations.
  • Assist in executing outbound marketing campaigns helping to generate interest and drive corporate partnerships.
  • Assist in preparing internal Corporate Relations and Advocacy newsletters with relevant updates and insights.
  • Support the development of marketing proposals, engagement documents, and outreach strategies to strengthen industry collaborations.
  • Create a Corporate Relations Toolkit, incorporating best practices from CALES and peer land-grant institutions to enhance corporate partnerships.
  • Maintain and update the Quick Base CRM, including data entry, validation, and  tracking of interactions, opportunities, and key contacts. 
  • Organize and manage research projects, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Computer proficiency - Microsoft suite, Qualtrics, Quick Base, Business and research acumen.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external constituents. 
  • Writing skills.
  • Experience in managing documents/proposals.
  • Organized.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Creative and flexible, able to work well with others.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work as a team and independently as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.
