Office Technician (Typing)

Under the general direction of the Program Operations Manager (Staff Services Manager I), the Office Technician (Typing), is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties, which require a high level of initiative, independence, and thoroughness. The incumbent will: respond to telephone, email, mail and fax inquiries from stakeholders (i.e. consumers, applicants, licensees, etc.) regarding general and technical questions; open, date stamp, and sort daily incoming correspondence mail; follow detailed internal cashiering process to ensure monies sent to Central Cashiering Unit are accurately documented and payments sent timely; perform quality assurance measures to ensure source documents sent to electronic imaging are fully and accurately preserved; reviews the purchasing needs of staff and maintains tracking system to monitor all purchase requests/orders.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, in an office setting with artificial light, and temperature control. Daily access to and use of a personal computer and telephone is essential. Sitting and standing requirements are consistent with office work; weekend, evening work, and overnight travel may be required. Regular attendance and punctuality are an essential part of this job.
