Golden Grizzlies Band Equipment Manager Lead

Duties include:

  • Must be an active performing member of the OU Golden Grizzlies Band (signed up for both semesters).
  • Must be able to work and communicate through Google Drive and various Google Docs.
  • Communicating and working with the Director and Graduate Assistants to accomplish weekly tasks.
  • Oversee other Golden Grizzlies Band Managers with all equipment set-up and movement for the ensemble. This includes arriving early to each performance to help set up drum set and other items from storage and stay after to help tear down.
  • Ensure the instruments and equipment are functional and everyone has an instrument to play.
  • Maintain and update the instrument inventory on Google Drive.
  • Identify and report damaged equipment needed for repair.
  • Clean, flush, grease, and oil all instruments at the end of the season.
  • Help facilitate loading and unloading of equipment trucks and other major moves of equipment (i.e. - tournament and off-site games). This includes recruiting extra people to help make it all work.
  • Maintaining an accurate inventory at all off-site performances.
  • Always ensure that equipment is where it needs to be when it needs to be there.
  • Training band members on proper care and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Be able to answer any equipment-related questions from the band.
  • Attend all off-campus ensemble performances (tournament games, off-site home games, etc.). 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director or the Grizz Band Graduate Assistants.
