A Mayor’s Internship (unpaid) is available with the City of Fort Worth City Manager’s Office /Mayor and Council Office. The Office of the Mayor is seeking interns to assist the Mayor and staff with administrative, staffing, and special projects as needed. This opportunity is expected to be for the Spring 2025 semester.

Ideal start date would be week of May 10th. This is a part-time position with (2) interns for each shift Monday - Friday 9am - 1pm or 1pm - 5pm.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled and working toward’ s a college degree. Preference will be given to students enrolled in Political Science, Government, Public Administration, Legislative Affairs or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work well with others.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Interest in working in public administration and basic knowledge of local government
The Mayor’s Internship responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate the ability to think critically and creatively, and to operate without consistent supervision.
- Participate in internal/external meetings
- Assisting with scheduling, event support, and administrative tasks
- Draft memos, reports, and presentations, or provide verbal briefings to a variety of City officials, not limited to others in the Mayor’s Office
- Assisting with special projects
- Help manage constituent correspondence
- Participate in work sessions
