Minneapolis Park Corps Spark'd Studios Programming Placement
This internship-style entry-level position is for people 18-24 years old. We are hiring for seven different roles across the MPRB, and you are welcome to apply for as many positions as interest you. No previous experience is required.
This posting is for our Spark'd Studios Programming Assistant at Whittier Rec Center. Its main responsibilities include:
- Program set up, clean up, and day to day task relating to youth programming.
- Learning best practices to park programming, curriculum development, engagement, evaluation, and inclusion.
- Promoting and building programs in MPRB recreation facilities and with community partners that meet the needs of diverse communities and ensure race equity, gender inclusion, and universal access.
- Learning strategies to develop mentoring relationships with youth ages 12 to 17 to support and encourage them to build on the strengths and capabilities needed to be positively involved in their communities while preparing to be successful adults.
- Creating and implementing, with youth participant input, a condensed curriculum that build on acquired skills in creative arts or technology fields.
- Implementing outreach strategies to connect with youth and promote programing
- Conducting evaluation of programs to improve and enhance programs
- Supporting Spark’d Studio staff with Summer Entrepreneurship Program with tech support, set up and cleanup of programs, help with file management, and assist youth with their projects support with field trips
- Additional duties as assigned.
