Position: Entrepreneurship Program (Summer 2025)

Type: Internship

Location: Alexandria, VA (Hybrid/In-Person)
Duration: 8 Weeks (June 9, 2025-August 1, 2025)

Hours: 21 hours per week (flexible based on academic schedule)

Compensation: $450 per week

Eligibility: Open to undergraduate (Junior or Senior levels) or graduate students with demonstrated financial need

 

About Together We Bake

Together We Bake (TWB) is a nonprofit employment social enterprise that provides hands-on workforce training and personal development for women navigating barriers to employment. TWB is launching an entrepreneurship program to support program participants and alums in exploring business ownership as a pathway to economic stability.

This 8-week internship offers a unique opportunity for a motivated undergraduate (Junior or Senior level) or graduate student to gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, social enterprise development, and nonprofit programming while contributing to a mission-driven organization.

Internship Overview

The Entrepreneurship Program Intern will play a key role in researching and designing an entrepreneurship initiative for TWB participants and alums. Working closely with TWB leadership, the intern will develop curriculum, resources, and business support strategies to help women begin to build successful small businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Program Research & Development

  • Research best practices in entrepreneurship training, specifically for women overcoming employment barriers.
  • Identify essential small business skills (e.g., business planning, financial literacy, marketing).
  • Develop a structured entrepreneurship curriculum with interactive learning materials.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Conduct interviews with TWB alums and participants to assess their entrepreneurship needs and interests.
  • Research potential guest speakers, business mentors, and local support organizations.
  • Research grant and funding opportunities to support the program’s growth.
