Assistant Professor of Graphic Arts
Job Summary
Provide high quality and engaging instruction in first- and second-year courses such as Graphic Design, Digital Media, and Web Design, beginning August 2025. The successful candidate will teach a variety of graphic design courses. The selected candidate must also demonstrate proficiency in visual communication using Adobe Creative Suite as well as other core media tools. We seek candidates who can contribute to the development of new courses in emerging digital technologies. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include research and service requirements consistent with tenure expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching a broad range of courses, including digital design, online marketing, social media development, or a related field involving new media or design technology.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate Graphic Arts majors.
- Engage in and maintain active scholarly research activities.
- Serve on departmental and university committees and engage in other forms of service to the university and academic community.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Candidates must have a doctorate in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Web Design, or a related discipline. Candidates with ABDs will be considered but must have a conferred Ph.D. by December 31, 2024.
Minimum Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with Prior Teaching Experience.
