Business Development Support Intern

Project Title: RoofMaxxConnect / ServiceMaxx – Requirements & Backlog Support Intern
Location: Remote
Department: Product / Business Analysis / IT
Duration: 10 week internship totaling 200hrs

 

Project Summary

  • Join the Roof Maxx team as an intern or junior-level contributor assisting with requirements gathering, business process analysis, and backlog grooming for the RoofMaxxConnect / ServiceMaxx initiative. This role provides hands-on experience in Agile environments, working closely with product owners and development teams to shape high-quality deliverables that drive meaningful progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders to elicit, define, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Business Process Analysis: Analyze current processes and translate findings into clear documentation and workflow diagrams.
  • Backlog Grooming: Collaborate in refining JIRA tickets to ensure they are actionable, well-defined, and aligned with project goals.
  • Light Quality Assurance (QA): Verify that completed work meets ticket requirements prior to release, conducting basic testing as needed.
  • Documentation Support: Create and maintain supportive diagrams, flowcharts, and requirement docs for internal team use.

Deliverables

  • A well-groomed and organized backlog of JIRA tickets with clearly defined requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Supportive documentation including process diagrams, user stories, and workflow visuals to aid development and QA efforts

Skills & Qualifications

  • Required:
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Interest in software development, product management, or business analysis
  • Ability to communicate clearly and translate ideas into structured documentation
  • Preferred but Not Required:
  • Understanding of Agile methodology and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Familiarity with JIRA or other project management/ticketing tools
  • Experience creating diagrams using tools like Lucidchart, Miro, or Draw.io
  • Some knowledge of QA or software testing basics
