Care Management Specialist Internship

The care management team is looking for five passionate bachelor's and/or master's students who are seeking to learn more about providing community resources, direct client collaboration, and advocacy for others with mental illnesses.

The case management administrative intern will be primarily responsible for a caseload of up to 15 clients at any given time. The case management tasks include care coordination utilizing internal and external resources, treatment development through creating case plans, and advocacy. There are other various tasks throughout the clinic including filing, completing phone screenings, and data collection. This internship will include one on one training opportunities, direct client face to face hours, and opportunities to work in other programs throughout the Mental Health Association of Central Florida.

To qualify for the Care Management Specialist Internship-Please read all qualifications below

-At least 18 years of age

-Must have a background in Psychology/Social work/Family Sciences/Criminal Justice at a bachelors or master’s level (with first year of education completed is preferred)

-Be able to commit to at least 6 months

-Strong communication skills

-Strong writing skills

-Time management skills

-Ability to multi-task

-Ability to work independently and collaboratively

-previous knowledge or experience of community resources preferred

-previous research experience preferred

The Case Management Administrative Intern position will require online training to be completed before the beginning of the internship. There will also be mandatory orientation and training sessions for all care management administrative interns through the month of June (excluding holidays).

The next semester will begin on 06/2/2025 and will end on 12/15/2025. The applicant is expected to be able to commit at least 15 hours a week with an additional 2 community events or 2 community connections per month.
