Operations Engineer Intern

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Operations Engineer Intern for a 12 month contract opportunity in Tewksbury, MA. 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

 Able to tackle sophisticated electro-mechanical systems using electrical schematics, DVM, oscilloscopes, function generators and spectrum analyzers  Able to plan and resolve issues that involve gaining collaboration of multi-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites without damaging relationships Experience with Microsoft Office applications to analyze, organize, and communicate data/information throughout the organization in a clear and concise manner  Understanding and experience with low level analog signal processing Knowledge of key technologies including motion control, process automation, optics, and material selection, Electrostatic discharge (ESD), Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA) Exemplifies the clients 4i Values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement  Strong communication, excellent written and verbal skills, fluent in English, and ability to report out to multiple levels of the organization Planning, organizing, prioritizing, and goal setting  Quality and sustainability focus  Systematic problem solving  Decisiveness and engineering judgment

 

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Operations Engineer Intern will play a critical role in Electrical Fault Analysis (EFA) business unit located in Tewksbury MA. Our factories produce low-volume, high complexity ESD testing equipment that helps manufacturers meet their test requirements to help reduce catastrophic failure, ensure product quality, and speed to market.

 

You will be involved in a team with varied strengths responsible for the successful introduction of new products into the factory and field. They will chip in to the ongoing improvement of products and the processes used for manufacturing and service. This role collaborates closely with the Product Lifecycle Management, Product Marketing, New Product Development, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, and Global Technical Support groups to ensure the development of sustainable products according to the latest quality standards, at lowest COGS using practical process improvements (PPI). Throughout the lifecycle of our products, the Operations Engineering team implements quality, cost, and process improvements to increase customer satisfaction.

 

 Debugs and solves problems existing mechanical and electronic designs  Collaborate with manufacturing to improve product documentation, work instructions (WI), test procedures  Participates with R&D in initial product development product builds and validation Defines and integrates factory and service test equipment  Implements engineering change orders to support manufacturing and/or service Applies client'sPractical Process Improvement (PPI) tools to lead or facilitate productivity, scrap reduction, process improvement, and cost improvement project.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

 

 The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a combination of technical education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Accredited High School Diploma.

Part-Time.
