Job Summary
The Social Impact Intern will support our passionate team of consultants. We are looking for Summer interns available from Monday, May 19, 2025, to Friday, August 15, 2025.
Responsibilities
Interns will assist with various tasks, including but not limited to:
- Supporting consultants on client projects and campaigns
- Drafting and proofreading written materials
- Creating and maintaining contact lists, assisting with outreach and partner engagement
- Monitoring policy and media, preparing briefing materials, and compiling reports
- Conducting research for projects and campaigns
- Assisting with scheduling internal and client meetings
- Supporting in-person events
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
- Demonstrated interest in community engagement, public relations, social impact, and/or politics
- Available to work a total of 20 hours a week between 9 A.M. - 6 P.M. ET, Monday-Friday
- Eagerness for new challenges and a proactive approach to learning
- Strong writing (drafting, editing, proofing) and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with social media, technology platforms, and analytics tools (a plus)
- Proficiency in creating professional presentations, particularly using Google Slides & Google Sheets
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
- Commitment to excellence, trustworthiness, and respect
- Prior experience with a social justice organization, Capitol Hill, or in the technology/entertainment industry (a plus)
- Willingness to travel occasionally
FCS Office Hours
- 9:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. ET
Internship Program Duration
- 2 months and 27 days
Work Hour Commitment
- 20 hours per week
- Must be available to work between classes at a minimum of 20 hours per week between 9:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. (ET), Monday through Friday
- Up to 5 additional hours per week (if needed) to work on client deliverables outside of regular business hours. We refer to these as “floating hours.”
Salary
- Interns are paid a fixed stipend, which is divided into biweekly installments and distributed over the course of the internship.
Work Modality & Travel Expectations
All interns will primarily work remotely, with a few exceptions outlined below:

DMV-Based Interns (D.C., Maryland, Virginia):
You may be asked to work from the FCS D.C. office and attend in-person training or client activations as needed. Please note that FCS does not provide or reimburse transportation or lodging for DMV-based interns. -
Non-DMV-Based Interns:
You will work fully remotely but are expected to travel to the D.C. office or attend client activations when FCS requests it. In these cases, FCS does provide transportation and lodging costs.
Client & FCS CEO Activations
- 2-5% travel expected for client and CEO activations.
- Lodging and transportation are provided depending on your work modality and at the discretion of FCS.
