Career Ambassador - Tech Support
Position Description:
The Advising and Career Center Career Ambassador Tech Support person will serve as a functional project leader and technical support person of the Career Services Management system, Handshake. This role will include:
- Serve as a platform expert maintaining Handshake’s many functions and programs
- Provide system software and technical support to the Advising & Career Center team
- Collaborate with staff to streamline/automate Handshake processes for efficiency
- Approve employer accounts and job postings
- Develop and disseminate reports in support of internal and external planning and decision-making

- Serve as an ethical and efficient platform expert providing Handshake support to Parkside staff, faculty, and students
- Learn the program’s many applications and features to help the Career Center function efficiently and best serve the needs of students and employers.
- Generate regular reports/queries and maintain a training/resource manual

- Manage the job-posting feature of Handshake
- Evaluate employer accounts and job postings for approval or denial
- Complete training provided on Handshake training modules
- Troubleshoot problems and address technical needs
Communication:
- Demonstrate strong social interaction skills as an integral member of the Advising and Career Center Team
- Contact employers, faculty, staff, and students when questions/concerns arise regarding their Handshake accounts, job postings, and events
- Develop and run queries and write reports as needed
- Maintain written instructions on policies and procedures for Handshake
