Systems Integration Management Intern (PMO)

Summary 

As a member of the Project Management Office (PMO), the intern will participate in meaningful projects and work closely with Project Managers. This intern reports to a designated Project Manager and has the primary goal of learning project and program management principles, technologies, and core operational functions. A secondary goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of how a PMO works across the SPI organization.  

 

Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to: 

  • Assisting with the integration of cataloging points and dependencies between business applications
  • Review current processes for optimizing existing technology in preparation for data warehouse.
  • Assists with API documentation, testing, and integration planning for technology projects.
  • Supports the mapping and documentation of software integration workflows between systems.
  • Support day-to-day management of technology projects 
  • Support members of the PMO on various tasks, from project initiation to project close-out.
  • Supports the project manager's efforts to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Assist with daily project needs to ensure optimal coordination, tracking, and reporting.
  • Assists with attending and facilitating project-related meetings, helping create and communicate meeting agendas, recording meeting minutes, tracking, and following up on action items, and assisting with data entry tasks.
  • Participates in project team meetings and manages project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed, and stored.
  • Prepares status reports for project financial/technical components for review by internal/external stakeholders.

 

Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge 

  • Enrolled in an accredited college discipline for Bachelors or master's in computer science, information systems or technology or related
  • Graduating in Winter of 2025 or Spring of 2026
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Basic understanding of API concepts, RESTful services, and software integration principles.
  • Familiarity with API documentation tools and integration testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of common data exchange formats (JSON, XML) and basic understanding of web services.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn API management platforms and integration tools.
  • Ability to respond to change positively and adapt to variety of situations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • High degree of professionalism; inclusive and collaborative work style
  • Knowledge of project management principles
  • Superior communication and presentation skills

 

Work Environment 

  • Hybrid (Charlotte office up to 2x per week)

 

Physical demands may include but are not limited to: 

  • Sitting for extended periods of time

Travel 

  • Travel may be expected

Exemption Status 

  • Non-exempt

 

**Pay will be determined based on education level. 

  • Junior - $21/hour
  • Senior - $22/hour
