Economics Intern
Peaches and Cream Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth, college students, and military families nationwide. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Economics Intern to assist with financial analysis, policy research, nonprofit funding strategies, and economic development initiatives. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in data-driven research, nonprofit financial planning, and real-world economic applications that support our nationwide efforts.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Conduct economic research on policies affecting veterans, military families, youth, and college students.
Analyze financial trends, nonprofit funding sources, and economic stability programs.
Assist with budget planning, grant writing, and fundraising impact assessments.
Develop reports and presentations that support advocacy and policy decisions.
Collaborate with policy advisors to assess government benefits and VA funding opportunities.
Support marketing, outreach, and economic awareness campaigns for the foundation.
Track metrics and data related to nonprofit funding, social welfare programs, and economic stability.
Work closely with mental health and social service teams to integrate economic solutions into wellness initiatives.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university, preferably in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Business, or related fields.
Strong research and analytical skills with experience in data interpretation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and economic forecasting is a plus.
Passion for empowering youth, college students, and military families through economic research and advocacy.
Interest in mental health advocacy and child poverty reduction strategies.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse teams.
Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Time Commitment:
• Interns can expect to work at least 10 hours a week or less, depending on academic requirements. • Flexible scheduling: Interns can set their hours, Monday to Sunday, as long as they complete their projects. • This is a remote position with flexibility to accommodate academic schedules. • The final schedule will be established between the intern and the director. • Internships are available year-round, depending on student and organizational needs. • Internships typically last 3–4 months to provide a meaningful experience for both the intern and the organization. • Upon completion, interns may continue their internship or volunteer with the organization. • Academic Credit: "This position qualifies for academic credit with the appropriate institution's approval." Interns may obtain program or course credit with their educational institution's approval. Although this is an unpaid internship, it is eligible for academic or course credit with their school's approval.
