Renewable Energy & Environmental Commodities Sales Trader

Due to growth-driven expansion of its Commodities business, Karbone is hiring for Sales Traders on multiple Desks.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Originate, structure and execute bilateral deals/contracts for various classes of Energy Transition commodities in North America; your coverage may include Power, Capacity, Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), or Renewable Fuels (LCFS, RINs, feedstocks, RNG).
  • Cultivate and expand a robust network of clients and counterparties, identifying and capturing new revenue streams. Market participants may include project developers, asset managers, independent power producers (IPPs), utilities, non-utility load servers, commodity merchants, trading funds, infrastructure investors, and corporate/non-corporate end-users.
  • Conduct client meetings and roadshows, participate in industry networking events, with the goal of building a book of business and growing company exposure.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and regulatory landscapes to offer clients proactive insights and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Environmental Science/Markets, Sustainability, and/or Energy Markets preferred (Graduate degree a plus)
  • 0-4+ years of experience in a sales, trading, brokerage, or business development role
  • Proven track record of interest and/or transacting in energy product markets or adjacent, e.g. RECs, renewable fuels, RINs, capacity, power, etc.
  • Specific experience in energy or environmental markets is a plus
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and strong analytical perspective
  • Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong initiative, results-orientation, innovation, and an entrepreneurial attitude, with the ability to thrive in a team dynamic
