Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and meticulous individual to join our team as a Civil Engineering Intern. This is a summer internship position ideal for a student currently pursuing a degree in Civil or Agricultural Engineering. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments, and will assist in efforts involving crucial GIS technologies such as GNSS, GPS, and RTK with drones and other technologies. Additionally, the role involves utilizing integrated software for planning and design, onsite surveys, and machine control to enhance project accuracy and efficiency. Hands-on experience with grading and excavating equipment is also very likely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, planning, and execution of excavation and grading projects.
- Develop accurate and detailed project estimates, including cut/fill, material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Prepare and review project plans, specifications, and reports.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather data and evaluate project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project success.
- Utilize engineering software and tools to create and modify design plans and estimates.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Assist in implementing and utilizing GIS technologies for project estimation, accuracy, and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other similar tools.
- Diligence and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- Internship or project experience in excavation, grading, or related fields.
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
- Familiarity with project management, estimating, and design software.
