Minimum qualifications

You must meet one of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in art, or design field such as: art, drawing, painting, illustration, digital design, or interactive media; and
• two years of experience; or

• Associate’s degree in art, or design field such as: art, drawing, painting, illustration, digital design, or interactive media; and
• four years of experience

Job Duties

The incumbent will assist in the following:

• Design of print and digital materials to promote and educate internal and
external audiences about Tax Department programs and policies. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Reports, newsletters, publications, pamphlets, brochures, banners, posters,
postcards, flyers/invitations
- Logos, icons, informational graphics
- Illustrations
- Web/social media assets
- Multimedia assets (i.e., animations)
- Outreach displays
- Signage
• PowerPoint presentation development
• Campaign development
• Video/multimedia development
• Revision of translated documents
• Preparing design files for print, coordination of print jobs
• Researching/organizing stock photography and other photo sources, photo editing
• Ensuring compliance with the NYS Branding Guidelines
• Project tracking and organization
• Serve on project teams as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:
Graphic Designer
• Experience with desktop publishing
• Experience creating graphics for web sites and social media
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Fluent with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign

Multimedia Production Specialist
• Videography skills including editing, animation, and post-production
• Experience recording and mixing audio
• Still photography and experience with Adobe Captivate
• Experience with Adobe Premier and Adobe After Effects
