Events Specialist 

This is a Part-time, NON- permanent position. Hours depend on an event schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

JOB PURPOSE:

Under direct supervision, in a team, or independently performs duties necessary for events to be held at venues (Legare Waring House or Founders Hall) on Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site. Performs diverse duties as governed by general instruction, policies and standard operating procedures of the Department. This includes but is not limited to cleaning, assisting clients/vendors with the venue equipment/appliances, building/maintaining a fire, directing traffic, transporting guests in a golf cart, etc. This position requires employee to work in an environment where many events have alcohol during late hours.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma and/or one (1) year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

** Candidates MUST specifically meet these required qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience to be considered for this position.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling, and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds. Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver’s License and pass background check.
