Litigation Paralegal /Assistant

Overview
Continental is a full-service law and lobbying firm with attorneys and government relations professionals throughout Florida and Washington D.C., which has an immediate opening in our Miami and Washington D.C. office for a full-time legal assistant with 3+ years of experience in litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level secretarial and administrative support to litigators throughout the litigation process, from case initiation to post-trial.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing litigation cases, ensuring timely document production and efficient management of case files on a daily basis.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain deposition materials and summaries for use in case development.
  • Support trial and mediation preparations, ensuring all necessary materials are properly organized and ready for presentation.
  • Provide ongoing assistance with document production, including the creation, editing, and management of correspondence and legal documents.

Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to effectively proofread and draft documents with precision and accuracy.
  • Multi-tasking & Organization: Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining strong organizational skills and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with others, and communicate efficiently in both written and oral formats.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Court Procedures: In-depth expertise in state and federal court procedures, including e-filing and docketing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and other productivity software.
  • Practice Management: Experience with practice management tasks, including billing, invoicing, and general administrative office functions.
