Events & Experience Photographer
The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is currently seeking a part-time Events & Experience Photographer to join our Creative Services production team and help advance the Zoo’s mission through visual storytelling. This role involves capturing a wide range of events, guest experiences, and other special moments across the Zoo, while also supporting various departments with their photography needs. The Events & Experience Photographer will also be responsible for editing their own work and contributing to other creative projects, including short-form video content.
This position will report to the Director of Content and Production and is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Weekend and evening availability is required, along with flexibility to work between 20-28 hours per week. Include resume and link to portfolio in application.
Essential Job Functions
- Capture high-quality images of Zoo events, guest experiences, and special activities.
- Provide photography coverage for Zoo fundraising, donor events, and other special Zoo initiatives.
- Edit and organize images for use in Zoo publications, marketing, and archives.
- Ensure proper lighting, composition and timing to produce engaging and impactful visuals.
- Collaborate with the content team to ensure cohesive visual storytelling and brand consistency.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating photo shoots for promotional campaigns.
- Help maintain photography equipment by ensuring proper storage, charging, and upkeep.
- Capture short-form video content for social media, promotional materials, or internal use as needed.
Minimum Training and Experience
- A degree or certification in photography, fine arts, or a related field preferred.
- A photography portfolio showcasing your work is required.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or similar photo editing software.
- Basic knowledge of videography and video editing is a plus.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with broad direction, while maintaining open communication and collaboration with the team.
